From Uji hills
to your bowl.
Uji, just south of Kyoto, has been the spiritual home of Japanese matcha for over 800 years. We work with a small family estate there — third-generation growers who shade their tencha leaves for the final three weeks, hand-pick the first harvest, and stone-mill in tiny daily batches.
Stone milling matters. It keeps the leaf cool and slow, protecting the chlorophyll, the L-theanine, and the umami depth that defines a true ceremonial cup. Anything ground faster — and most commodity matcha is — burns the leaf and dulls the colour.

How to Prepare

Matcha is a ritual, not a recipe. Here are the three preparations we drink most — and the ratios that make them sing.
Usucha (Thin)
The everyday bowl. Whisked in a zig-zag motion until a fine foam covers the surface. Bright, vibrant, alert.

The ceremonial cup. Twice the matcha, half the water, stirred slow. Concentrated, syrupy, meditative.
